“Baldrick’s Big Big”

Baldrick is an RSPCA rescue who arrived with us on the night of 30th May 2018 in a truly dreadful state. A miniature coloured Shetland, he had been abused and left to die in a scrubby overgrown patch of land. Badly burnt, malnourished and riddled with maggots, we have slowly and carefully nursed him back to health. Atlantic Equine Ltd have kindly supported Baldrick by supplying specialist miniature boots.

Caring for him has highlighted the need to build a bespoke social barn and stabling suitable for miniature and small ponies.

Please support this special project by donating on our Just Giving fundraising page where we have written extensively about Baldrick and included many photographs.

With your backing, we hope to start the building work early this year.

Join our team as we run 10k and fundraise for HEROS. We’ll supply you with a training plan (if you need one), plenty of moral support and a technical t-shirt. We have a Just Giving fundraising page which our fundraisers can link to.

“Virgin Sport and ASICS are teaming up and returning to central London this summer with a brand-new look for the ultimate street party. Everything you loved about the British 10k – live bands and DJ’s motivating you at every kilometre, cheering fans and fan hubs are back, with a few surprises up our sleeve.”

A huge thank you to Ben who took part in the 2016 London Marathon on our behalf and completed the course in 4 hours 15 mins. It was his first Marathon and he may have caught the bug as immediately afterwards was considering the Amsterdam Marathon. Ben raised more than £3,000 for HEROS, which is immensely welcome and very much needed.

Another huge thank you to Charlie who ran the Half Marathon in Barcelona in 1 hour and 39 mins and raised just under £1,000 for HEROS. Charlie spent some time in Australia and America on his gap year working in the thoroughbred industry and wanted to help support ex-racehorses to find new careers and homes after their racing days are over.
